Authorities in Ogun State on Wednesday, reported the successful arrest of two individuals believed to be serial killers but not without the drama of one of the suspects trying to bite one of the policemen who made the arrest.

The suspects, identified as Esube and Osunmuyiwa Solomon, were apprehended on Sunday near the Papalanto section of the Lagos-Abeokuta express road. The police intervention was led by Inspector Sunday Adeyemo, who had flagged down the suspects traveling on an unregistered motorcycle.

Despite the police’s attempt to stop them, the suspects defied the order, prompting a pursuit. Along with a passenger named Omowunmi Fiyakola, the suspects were ultimately caught.

During the arrest, Esube displayed resistance by struggling with the police vehicle’s driver, causing the vehicle to lose control and experience a tyre burst. In a desperate bid to escape, he even bit the police driver’s right finger, causing further chaos.

The subsequent search of Esube’s belongings led to the discovery of a locally-made pistol loaded with cartridges. In an official statement, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Omolola Odutola disclosed that Esube eventually succumbed to the authorities’ efforts and was taken into custody.

In the course of investigation, Esube reportedly confessed to being a member of a notorious confraternity. He also admitted to stealing an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle. This confession brings serious charges against the suspects, including murder, theft, and possession of firearms.
