Musical Video Raises New Questions On Wike’s Mandate In Tinubu’s Team
By Gideon Ayeni
In a musical video circulating on social media, former Governor of Rivers State and the current FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, is captured singing “On your mandate we shall stand” with his distinctive and robust voice.
The musical video, posted by an online user, humorously suggests that Wike is enjoying himself while working for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and enjoying his own mandate as FCT minister.
Even more, the video captured Wike in the office of the chief of staff to the president, portraying the degree of entrenchment that the PDP chief enjoys within the seat of government.
The caption reads: “Wike singing ‘On your mandate we shall stand’ in Wike’s voice 😂🤣. Baba is really enjoying himself working for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” The lighthearted remark adds a touch of amusement to the clip, creating a buzz among social media users.

However, the intriguing aspect arises from the mention that Wike, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is currently serving as the FCT Minister chosen by the Bola Tinubu administration.
GWG.ng reports that Wike supported the opposition party, APC, during the last presidential election that saw Tinubu elected as the President of Nigeria.
Despite his purported association with the APC government, Wike has neither officially denounced his membership of the PDP, nor has he publicly declared his affiliation with the APC. This ambiguity has fueled speculation and discussions among political observers, as Wike’s political stance remains a topic of interest.
As the viral video adds a musical touch to Wike’s political narrative, it also raises questions about the intricacies of political alignments and affiliations, leaving netizens curious about the FCT Minister’s mandate in the dynamic political landscape.
Read some netizens reactions to the video below;
@miodini001: Ajegunle bois have reduced Wike into a house boi, a door opener.
@iykezuby: Wike reminds me of T-Bag in Prison Break. Like someone planning something. He is not to be trusted. My thought shai.
