In a resolute New Year’s Eve address that echoed through a Church, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared victory over political adversaries who he says have failed, reigniting discussions surrounding his prolonged feud with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

GWG.ng reports that for months, Governor Fubara and Nyesom Wike have been entangled in a protracted and intense political feud. Despite President Bola Tinubu’s attempts to mediate and foster reconciliation, the rift has shown no signs of resolution. The latest statement from Governor Fubara only adds fuel to the ongoing conversation about the strained relationship between the two political figures

Facing a congregation eager for reassurance, Governor Fubara vowed not to yield his powers as governor to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike or anyone. The atmosphere was charged with determination as he spoke candidly about the challenges posed by those seeking to hinder his administration’s progress.

“I want to urge everyone of us here, don’t be frightened. What they want is this red biro; it is still with me. They have failed. You are the winner; we are the winner because we are still signing with the red biro. And, so long as we are signing with the red biro, development will continue in Rivers State,” declared Governor Fubara, brandishing a symbolic red pen during the crossover church service.
