Edo: Agba Sends Guided Message As He Picks APC Forms

In a direct message to political jingoists from Edo South determined to retain the governorship seat in the state’s dominant senatorial district, former minister of state for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba on Wednesday purchased the All Progressive Congress, APC governorship forms by proxy through Mr Henry Idahagbon.

GWG.ng reports that Idahagbon from Egor, Edo South, was at one time about the most potent political actors in the state.

Agba became the first to purchase the N50m APC expression of interests and governorship forms as the national secretariat formally commenced the sale of the forms.

Agba paid N10m for the expression of interest form and N40m for the nomination form indicating his determination to contend for the governorship ticket despite the increasingly ethnic dimensions shadowing the emergence of a successor to the outgoing governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki.

He purchased the forms from the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu.

GWG.ng reports that the fact of Idahagbon purchasing the APC forms for Agba is bound to provoke sensibilities that prominent political actors from Edo South will not back an aspirant from Edo North or even Agba following issues raised on his ministerial tenure during his visit to His Royal Majesty the Oba Of Benin over his alleged discrimination of other parts of the state.
