Nigerian Governor Under Fire As He Plans To Meet Tinubu Over Hunger In His State
Nigerians have taken to their Social Media handles to react to Governor Abba Kyari Yusuf’s unveiled plans to ask President Bola Tinubu to intervene and address the hunger situation in Kano State.
Governor Kyari made this plan known during a meeting with members of the business community in the state at Government House, Kano.
“I will personally go and ask President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and check the prevailing hunger situation in Kano State, so as to save our people from starvation,” he said.
“We know that other parts of the country are experiencing the same thing, but we will make a case for Kano State, being our constituency,” he said.
He said the situation had become so serious that the Federal Government must do something to get the people out of the predicament.
Kyari lamented that the trend has been worsened by the soaring prices of foodstuff, particularly rice, maize, beans, and millet, which he said had made the items unaffordable to the people.
A section of Nigerians expressed their thoughts on the governor’s planned action via their X social media space.
S.S. Madi said, “While his mates are in China making deals for development he is going up and down begging so sad 😞”
Seankay45 said, “Yes there’s hunger in the country, but one of the root cause is having numerous kids without to plan to take care of them”.
Kenny said, “Wow, he just found out his people are hungry now, lol nigeria, well, shebi na this mandate, we all will stand on it.”
Isaac Tom said “Who does he want to go and meet in Abuja
