Edo Government Confirms Kidnapp Of PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi

Gunmen have reportedly abducted Tony Aziegbemi, the Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Aziegbemi’s abduction occurred shortly after a meeting with Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki in Benin City on Friday, sending shockwaves through the political landscape of the state.

While official statements from the state police authorities are awaited, the Edo State Government has confirmed the kidnapping, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Chris Nehikhare, the government assured the public of its unwavering commitment to securing Aziegbemi’s safe release.

Nehikhare emphasized the collaborative efforts between the government and security agencies to resolve the crisis, describing the incident as regrettable and expressing sympathy for Aziegbemi’s family.
