Actress Abimbola Craig Shares Near-Death Experience After Brain Surgery (Video)
Nigerian actress and film producer, Abimbola Craig, has shared her harrowing experience of undergoing brain surgery in 2014. In a heartfelt video on her YouTube channel, the ‘Skinny Girl in Transit’ actress recounted battling nausea, insomnia, and weight loss in the aftermath of the surgery.
Despite multiple spinal taps (lumbar punctures) conducted by her doctors, the cause of her symptoms remained unidentified, leading to suspicions of meningitis. Abimbola Craig expressed her relief at being healthy now but revealed that she had feared for her life during the ordeal.
“Four days after the surgery, I started feeling weird. I couldn’t eat or sleep, and I began losing weight,” she recalled. “During my last ER visit, I had four lumbar punctures in a day because they still didn’t know what was wrong. They thought I had meningitis.”
Reflecting on her journey, Craig emphasized her gratitude for being alive and healthy ten years post-surgery. She admitted that she had feared for her life during the lumbar puncture procedures, uncertain of her condition and potential meningitis diagnosis.
Despite the challenges she faced, Craig expressed resilience and appreciation for the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life post-recovery. Her story serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the strength found in overcoming adversity.
