Wike Terminates International Conference Centre Management Contract

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has ordered the termination of the contract of Messrs Integrated Facility Management Services Ltd, as managers of the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The order came in a statement issued by Mr Anthony Ogunleye, Director of Press, Office of the Minister who also announced that the minister had appointed Amb. Maureen Tamuno as the new Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited.

He disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Thursday just as he announced the , said that the appointment was with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the director announced the termination of the management contract of the International Conference Centre said that it was with immediate effect. He added that Julius Berger Nigeria Plc had been contracted for the immediate and comprehensive renovation of the centre. (NAN) www.nannews.ng

Ogunleye said that Tamuno, an experienced public officer, entrepreneur, and diplomat, was the Nigerian High Commissioner to Jamaica, Belize, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.

Meanwhile the news of the termination of the management contract of the International Conference Centre, Abuja came as Dr Udo Atang, the pioneer Head of Service, Federal Capital Territory Administration, says the FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, is articulating empowerment programmes for the youths in FCT.

Atang stated this when a coalition of FCT indigenous youths’ organisations paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja on Thursday.

He explained that Wike, on assumption into office as the minister of the FCT, had enlightened staff of FCTA on President Bola Tinubu’s agenda on youth inclusion in governance.

“The minister had repeatedly told contractors to employ youths in the communities where they are executing contracts, as part of strategies to address unemployment.
