Dunamis Church Member, Anyim Vera Detained By Police After Testimony Controversy
Anyim Vera, a member of Dunamis International Gospel Center (DIGC), who gained widespread attention after being accused of dishonesty during a testimony, has been arrested by the Police.
Vera’s detention by the Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday was reportedly due to a breach of etiquette.
The incident that propelled Vera into the spotlight occurred when the Senior Pastor of the church, Dr. Paul Enenche, interrupted her testimony at the Church Headquarters.
Enenche questioned Vera’s command of English, given her status as a law graduate, which led to further inquiry.
Vera claimed to have a BSc in law from the National Open University of Nigeria, prompting Enenche to retract her testimony, citing falsehood.
Enenche later apologized to Vera, expressing that his intention was not to humiliate her during the interruption.
Following the ordeal, Vera sought financial assistance from Nigerians, citing the need for improved accommodation due to safety concerns and discomfort with her current living situation.
The reasons for her detention have not been explicitly revealed.
