Patience Jonathan on Wike, Fubara feud

Amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, former First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan, has entreated Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state and Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to give peace a chance. 

The former first lady made this appeal while speaking at the 60th anniversary of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) international colloquium in Abuja on Thursday.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Public Relations, Value Re-orientation and Economic Transformation,’ Patience Jonathan urged the warring parties to allow the present administration of Rivers State to run smoothly without interference.

GWG.ng recalls that Rivers state has been entangled in myriads of crisis due to a fall out between Wike and his successor, Governor Fubara.

The duo are at loggerheads over the control of the oil-rich state. While Fubara survived an impeachment move by lawmakers loyal to Wike. The oil-rich state has made headlines in recent months owing to the crisis which turned bloody at some point.
