Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested an 18-year-old man, Kingdom Paul, for allegedly stabbing a 38-year-old woman, Victory Oro, to death in Benin City, the state capital.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred last Thursday, following a disagreement after they had s3x at a hotel, with Paul allegedly promising to pay Oro N2,000.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, Superintendent Moses Joel Yamu, revealed that the suspect was apprehended by officers from the Evbuotubu Police Division on September 5, 2024, after receiving information about the crime. According to Yamu, the altercation took place in a lodge where the victim and the suspect had gone to engage in intimate activities.

Yamu explained that after the violent altercation, Oro was rushed to Supreme Hospital in the Upper Ekenwan area, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries.

“The victim was immediately rushed to Supreme Hospital, Upper Ekenwan, where she gave up the ghost. Her body has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy,” Yamu stated.

He further added that investigations are currently underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
