Attendant In Tears As Motorists Flees Without Paying For ₦58k Fuel (Video)

A disturbing incident has sparked outrage on social media after a man fled from a filling station in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, without paying for fuel worth ₦58,548, leaving an elderly fuel attendant devastated and in debt.

The story, which went viral after being shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @Liltuffsb, included CCTV footage showing the suspect filling his tank with 59.20 liters of fuel before making a daring escape. He was driving a Honda Accord, popularly known as “End of Discussion,” with the plate number GGE576DY.

The footage revealed the man manipulating the station’s gate during the transaction to create an easy exit path. According to the post, the incident occurred on January 3, 2025, and has left the attendant in tears, worried about how he would repay the debt.

“A customer came to fill up his tank and zoomed off without paying,” the post read. “He stole 59.20 liters (₦58,548.4). The old man who sold the fuel is now in debt and has been in tears since. We have CCTV footage of the entire event. Please help catch this criminal and raise awareness.”

The video has since gained traction online, drawing comments from concerned Nigerians condemning the act. Many called for the suspect’s immediate identification and arrest, expressing sympathy for the distressed attendant. Others shared similar stories of fuel theft, highlighting the challenges faced by station workers in such situations.
