Man Utd Win At Fulham, Leicester Shocks Spurs Amid Postecoglou Pressure
By Benjamin Abioye

Ange Postecoglou is under increasing pressure after Leicester stunned Tottenham with a 2-1 win, further extending Spurs’ poor form. Manchester United, meanwhile, eased their own worries with a crucial 1-0 victory at Fulham, lifting them further from the relegation zone.
Tottenham suffered another setback at home, allowing Leicester to recover from a goal down. Richarlison had given Spurs the lead, but Leicester struck back early in the second half with goals from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss, ending their own seven-match losing streak. Tottenham, now just eight points above the relegation zone, have only one win in their last 11 league games, leaving Postecoglou’s future uncertain.
Despite mounting pressure, Postecoglou maintains that his squad is still fighting for him. “When you are the manager of a football club, you can be very vulnerable and isolated. I don’t feel that,” said Postecoglou. “I feel like this group of players, not for me, are giving everything for the club. I have a group of staff that is really committed. I focus on that.”
While Postecoglou fights for his job, Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy can breathe a little easier. Leicester’s win against Tottenham pushed them one place and one point above the relegation zone. “It’s a massive win,” said Van Nistelrooy. “The players are buying into it. I can only be very proud of this team.”
In contrast, Manchester United’s win at Fulham has put to rest any worries of relegation. Lisandro Martinez’s deflected strike secured the 1-0 win, with the ball bouncing off Sasa Lukic before looping over Fulham’s keeper, Bernd Leno. Although chances were few, United’s victory lifted them to 12th place. “It’s a big win for us,” said United’s Diogo Dalot after the match.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s hopes of securing a second consecutive Champions League spot took a hit as they were held to a 1-1 draw by an under-strength West Ham side. Jacob Ramsey’s goal gave Villa the lead early, but West Ham fought back, with Emerson Palmieri’s header bringing them level. Despite a stoppage-time goal attempt from Lucas Paqueta, Tomas Soucek was offside, and the goal was ruled out. Villa remains in eighth place, four points off the top four, while West Ham sit 14th.
Brentford earned a controversial 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, benefiting from a penalty decision. The Bees were awarded a spot-kick in the 66th minute after a foul on Nathan Collins by Maxence Lacroix. Bryan Mbeumo missed the initial attempt, but VAR ruled that Palace’s Marc Guehi had encroached before the shot, allowing Mbeumo to score his 14th goal of the season with a retaken penalty. Kevin Schade added a second for Brentford before Palace’s Romain Esse scored on his debut with a late goal.
