Nigerian Lady On Kenya Airways Flight Embroiled In Sanitary Pad Mess
By Gideon Ayeni

A Kenya Airways staff dared a Nigerian traveler to call President Bola Tinubu after the passenger threatened to call Nigeria’s Finance Minister after she was denied boarding on her journey through Nairobi to Manchester, United Kingdom.
The Nigerian passenger claimed that she was denied boarding for no reason after a 17-hour layover but Kenya Airways in a retort claimed she threw used sanitary pad at a female official.
The video, shared early Monday by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, sparked outrage online. Moshood accused the Kenya airways of mistreating Nigerian passengers, citing the case of Ms. Omisore G., who was allegedly denied boarding on the second leg of her journey despite holding a valid ticket.
Kenya Airways, however, claimed that she did not have a valid Schengen Visa which was required for her to travel through Europe.

In the footage, the airline staff can be heard telling the Nigerian traveler that she would never be allowed to fly Kenya Airways again. When the passenger mentioned she was on the phone with Nigeria’s aviation minister, the airline agent responded dismissively, saying:
“You will not fly on Kenya Airways. You will never enter our airline again; call your president, call the Nigerian president.”
The Nigerian passenger, visibly frustrated, complained about a 17-hour layover and requested basic necessities, saying:
“I need a sanitary towel. You will give me food tonight.”
In an official statement, Kenya Airways’ Corporate Communications team clarified the situation, stating that the passenger was traveling from Lagos to Nairobi, Paris, and Manchester. However, upon arrival in Nairobi for her connecting flight to Paris, it was discovered that she lacked a Schengen visa, which is a requirement for entry into the European Union.

The airline claimed they offered an alternative London-Manchester route, but the passenger refused.
“The video does not provide full context. Unhappy with this option, the guest demanded accommodation, which Kenya Airways does not provide in cases where boarding is denied due to visa requirements,” the airline stated.
Kenya Airways further alleged that in frustration, the passenger removed and threw three used sanitary pads at its employees.
“We strongly condemn such conduct. While we remain committed to delivering exceptional service, we expect all interactions to be based on mutual respect. Our employees deserve a safe and dignified work environment, and we do not tolerate any form of abuse.”
The airline confirmed that security agencies are now investigating the incident and assured that steps are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of both staff and passengers.
