Wife US Doctor Ikenna Erinne Suicide

Chibuogu Van-Lare, daughter of Nigerian businessman Francis Van-Lare, has spoken for the first time since the passing of her late partner, Dr. Ikenna Erinne. She addressed the controversy surrounding their troubled marriage.

Using her Instagram page, Chibuogu dismissed false stories spreading online following the death of Dr Ikenna Erinne. She also shared the struggles she has faced over the years.

Near-Death Experience and Focus on Healing
Chibuogu revealed that she and her children had a terrifying experience on January 26, which nearly cost them their lives when Dr Erinne allegedly attacked them. She stated that they are now focusing on healing.

She also explained that she has always been the main caregiver and financial provider for her children. Her son has a permanent disability and has been undergoing 40 hours of therapy each week since he was a baby.

Clarifying Her Late Partner’s Role
Chibuogu pointed out that Dr. Erinne did not live in the same state as them for most of their children’s lives.

She said, “Those who know me know that I have always taken care of my kids 100% of the time since their respective births. Those that know our situation know that their Dad hasn’t even lived in the same state as us for the majority of their lives. They know that my son is permanently disabled and has been in therapy 40 hours a week since he was 1 year old. They know that I have always been the primary financial provider for my kids. ALWAYS.”

Threats and Calls for Peace
Chibuogu also revealed that she and her children have received threats. She stated, “The worst night of our lives when we begged to live for three hours has been flipped around to make us look like villains. I have received dozens of text messages and calls threatening my life and my childrens’ lives. This has to stop.”

She warned that she has evidence, including videos, pictures, and police reports, but she does not want to escalate the situation.

She added, “Nobody knows someone like their partner. I respect the experiences and memories you had of him and I do not seek to tarnish them. I know the truth. People that know me know the truth. What you think of me is not my business.”

Moving Forward
Chibuogu urged people to stop spreading gossip and to consider the well-being of her children. She wrote, “Nigerians love gossip but don’t forget my children and I are real people trying to safely move on with our lives. We are already living through the result of years of anger and ignorance. Let’s move forward with love. #domesticviolence.”
