Woman Drops Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Jay-Z, Diddy
By Benjamin Abioye

A woman who accused hip-hop stars Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z of sexually assaulting her when she was 13 has officially dropped her lawsuit.
The lawsuit, filed in December, claimed that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, and Combs raped her at a party after the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000. However, court documents show that the accuser voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit “with prejudice,” meaning she cannot refile it.
It is unclear whether the woman, who has not been publicly identified, reached a settlement with the two musicians.
Jay-Z, 55, responded to the lawsuit being dropped, calling it “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling.” He stated, “This civil suit was without merit and never going anywhere. The fictional tale they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims.”
He also added, “I would not wish this experience on anyone. The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones, and I have endured can never be dismissed.”
The lawsuit initially claimed that Combs and Jay-Z took turns assaulting the plaintiff while another celebrity watched without intervening. It also alleged that many others at the party failed to stop the attack.
Meanwhile, Combs, also 55, is facing separate charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. Prosecutors accuse him of using threats and violence to force women into drug-fueled sex parties.
Combs has denied all accusations, and his criminal trial is scheduled to begin on May 5.
