Controversy As Expired USAID Condoms Are Repackaged In Nigeria (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a disturbing case of expired condoms being repackaged and sold at Idumota Market in Lagos.
During an ongoing enforcement operation, NAFDAC officials discovered that unscrupulous dealers had rebranded expired condoms donated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) program.
The condoms, which originally expired in 2022, were repackaged under the Kiss brand, with their expiration dates fraudulently extended to 2027.
In a shared online, a NAFDAC official displayed the confiscated products, warning the public that the so-called Kiss condoms were actually counterfeit versions of expired, repackaged USAID condoms.

“This is a serious public health risk,” the NAFDAC official stated, urging consumers to remain vigilant and only purchase products from trusted and approved sources.
The discovery has raised concerns over the safety of products circulating in open markets, with NAFDAC vowing to intensify its crackdown on counterfeit and expired goods.
In other news reports it has been reported that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested Nigerian pastor, Edward Abiodun Oluwasanmi, for allegedly conspiring with Osun monarch, Oba Joseph Oloyede, to defraud the U.S. government of $4.2 million in COVID-19 relief funds.
Like the Apetu of Ipetumodu, Oluwasanmi is accused of submitting falsified documents to fraudulently obtain the COVID-19 pandemic relief loans intended for struggling businesses. According to investigators, the pastor funneled millions through his companies—Dayspring Property Inc., Dayspring Holdings, and Dayspring Transportation—before diverting the funds for personal use.
