Crowd Woman Killing Father

A shocking incident has surfaced online involving a woman who was mobbed in Uromi, Edo State, after allegedly stabbing her father to death upon returning from Europe.

In a viral video circulating on Nigerian news platforms, the woman was seen attempting to board a motorcycle when an angry crowd descended on her. She was dragged to the ground, her clothes were torn, and her trousers were pulled down to her knees. While some members of the mob tried to strip her further, a few individuals attempted to shield her, helping her stand and put her clothes back on.

The brutal attack has sparked widespread reactions online, with many condemning the mob’s actions. Some expressed outrage over the attempt to humiliate her rather than hand her over to law enforcement.

Social media user @drpenking questioned, “I understand the mob’s grievances, but what does her pants have to do with this?” Similarly, @areghan_g criticized the jungle justice, saying, “This breed of humans is different! Why not hand her over to the law?”

Other users pointed out that the assault seemed driven by hatred and jealousy rather than justice. @otabor_leon stated, “Yes, what she did was wrong, but is that the reason to tear her bra and pants?” Another user, @Dukeofcruise, added, “I understand their grievances based on the gravity of her offense, but how does it concern her nakedness?”

There were also speculations about the motive behind the alleged crime. Some suggested it could be linked to financial disputes, with @Tee_Rexx_33 saying, “She may have sent money home for a house, and they misused it.”

Many condemned the act of stripping her, especially by fellow women. @Whamandgummy asked, “Why are the women removing her clothes? Nawa o.” Meanwhile, @Donhoney771 speculated that some attackers might have personal grudges against her, writing, “I’m sure they knew her and have heard stories about her while she was abroad.”

The incident has reignited concerns over mob justice in Nigeria. While people may be angered by alleged crimes, many argue that taking the law into their own hands only worsens the situation. Several voices online are calling for authorities to intervene and ensure that justice is served through due process rather than public humiliation and violence.
