Fubara’s Whereabouts Revealed
By Gideon Ayeni

Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reportedly relocated to the Bayelsa State Government House with his family following the escalating political crisis in his state.
Fubara’s departure from Port Harcourt comes in the wake of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, a move aimed at addressing worsening tensions that have paralyzed governance. Alongside Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly were suspended on Tuesday, March 18, as part of the emergency measures.
The political turmoil in Rivers has been linked to a long-standing feud between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Their power struggle has led to legislative disruptions, violent clashes, and multiple legal battles, prompting the federal government to intervene.
Sources revealed that Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, extended a temporary refuge to Fubara and his family. The relocation reportedly took place on Wednesday, March 19, under a reduced security escort, while security personnel, including Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), remain stationed at the Rivers State Government House.
President Tinubu appointed former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, as the interim administrator of Rivers State. Ibas is now tasked with overseeing governance and bringing order to the crisis-ridden state during the six-month emergency rule.
The development has raised many unanswered questions, with many Nigerians questioning the federal government’s approach to resolving the crisis while others view it as a necessary step to prevent further chaos.
