The Delta State Government has responded to a viral video showing an encounter between First Lady Remi Tinubu and a group of nurses during an event, clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The video, which has been widely shared on X (formerly Twitter), captures a moment when the First Lady was distributing giveaways to healthcare workers. During the event, attendees were expected to chant “Na our mama be this” in honor of the First Lady. However, some nurses instead responded with “Na your mama be this,” a remark that sparked widespread reactions online.

Addressing the controversy, a representative of the Delta State Government explained that the viral clip does not provide a full and accurate account of what transpired.

“We noticed that there was a viral video that tends to communicate messages that are at variance with the actual scenario of that moment,” the official stated.

The representative further clarified that the First Lady had actually apologized to the nurses after realizing that the giveaway items were originally intended for midwives, not nurses.

The statement aimed to dispel any misconceptions, emphasizing that the reaction from the nurses was due to a mix-up over the distribution process rather than an act of deliberate defiance or disrespect toward the First Lady.
