Real Madrid player Dani Carvajal may face punishment from UEFA after getting into a heated exchange with Arsenal star Bukayo Saka during the Champions League quarter-final second-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Although Carvajal is currently injured and didn’t play in the match, he was reportedly involved in a confrontation with Saka in the tunnel at halftime. Both teams were heading to the dressing room when the incident happened.

Eyewitnesses said Carvajal approached Saka angrily and raised his hands while speaking to him. Things got tense quickly, and when Saka pushed back in response, team staff had to step in. Arsenal’s Ben White, who was on the bench, also got involved to calm things down.

Reports suggest that Carvajal was upset about Saka’s decision to try a Panenka-style penalty earlier in the game. The attempt was stopped by Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Even after the altercation, Saka kept his cool and continued to play an important role in the match. He later scored a vital goal that helped Arsenal secure a strong 5–1 win on aggregate and move on to the semi-finals.

Carvajal’s actions have raised concerns because he wasn’t supposed to be near the pitch due to his injury. UEFA has strict rules about non-playing squad members being involved in games. In the past, Xabi Alonso was punished in 2016 for a similar situation.

Now, UEFA could take action against Carvajal for breaking those rules. If so, he may be hit with a suspension.
