Breaking: Governor’s Female Aide Beaten To Death

Chief Shimite Winifred Bello, the Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Trade and Export, has tragically passed away in what sources are calling a suspected case of domestic violence.
The heartbreaking incident that led to the death of Chief Shimite Winifred Bello reportedly occurred on Monday, April 21, 2025, and has since sent shockwaves through Delta State and beyond, with tributes pouring in for the prominent trade advocate and cultural promoter.
While the full details surrounding her death remain under investigation, close associates of Chief Shimite Winifred Bello have alleged that she was brutally beaten by her husband, leading to fatal injuries. One of her aides, Tameta Sunday, took to social media in a grief-stricken post, accusing her husband of ending not only her life but also her dreams and aspirations.

Another online user, Hon. Oge Okonkwo, echoed the allegation, stating that the deceased’s husband has been arrested in connection with the incident. However, the Delta State Police Command has yet to release an official statement confirming the arrest or the circumstances of her death.
Chief Shimite Winifred Bello was widely respected in business, culture, and policy circles. Before her death, she served as the Coordinator of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Centre in Delta State and led the implementation of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme across the state.
Her influence extended far beyond Nigeria. She was part of key international initiatives such as the USAID/NEXTT programme and the Lakaji Trade Corridor. She also held a seat on the Board of Directors at the Foundation for Economic Change in Africa (FESECA) and contributed to leading newspapers like Daily Trust and Leadership, focusing on travel and tourism.


A passionate advocate for African culture, Shimite was best known to many for her television documentary series African Pot, which celebrated African cuisine and heritage.
