Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries, has publicly addressed the recent apology issued by Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, who had previously accused him of misconduct.

In his response, Suleman hinted that while forgiveness is possible, forgetting might not be as simple.

Following Abubakar’s viral apology letter, in which she admitted to spreading falsehoods and harming Suleman’s reputation, the cleric took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) to share his reaction. “You all stop calling my phone. Forgiveness is not memory loss! Status quo maintained!” Suleman wrote, implying that despite the apology, lingering issues remain.

The feud between the actress and the pastor dates back to 2022, when Abubakar leveled accusations against Suleman, leading to a long and public battle.

In a related twist to the apology tendered to Apostle Johnson Suleman by Halima Abubakar has initiated legal action against Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). Abubakar is demanding N30 billion in damages, claiming that Rollas’ statements have caused harm to her reputation and career.

Abubakar’s lawsuit alleges that Rollas made comments on social media that were detrimental to her, causing significant emotional distress and financial loss. She is seeking compensation for the damages as well as the impact on her professional opportunities within the Nollywood industry.

The legal action comes on the heels of Abubakar’s indefinite suspension from the AGN, which was announced by Rollas on October 17, 2024. The guild cited allegations that Abubakar spread defamatory information about prominent figures in the entertainment industry, specifically rumors regarding extramarital affairs involving well-known personalities.
