The fight for supremacy between Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and Senator Rochas Okorocha in the Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has been reset with the Okorocha faction getting a major lift.

The Uzodinma faction suffered a setback after an FCT High Court, Abuja struck out an application before it by the group to project its legitimacy.

The faction loyal to Uzodinma has Prince Marcellinus Nlemigbo as Chairman.

The faction had approached the court presided over by Justice Othman Musa of the FCT High Court for an order of unconditional stay of execution/enforcement on a judgment delivered by the same court on 14-08-2018 in suit no FCT/HC/BW/CV/103/2018, which barred the APC from tampering or interfering with the tenure of the elected party officials in the state.

Nlemigbo, however left the court disappointed on Thursday as Justice Musa in his judgment reiterated his earlier pronouncement which reaffirmed Daniel Nwafor as the authentic chairman of the APC in Imo State.

Recall that earlier in the year, Nwafor had blamed former National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole for the crisis in the Imo State chapter of the APC.

“Oshiomhole created an illegal contraption called caretaker committee to undermine the legitimately established leadership structure in Imo State”

He stated: “Nlemigbo is an impostor. Blame Adams Oshiomhole for the confusion. The national chairman decided to create an illegal caretaker committee after the state congress. And despite several court decisions that authenticated my election, Oshiomhole has continued to encourage the illegal committee.”
