Tonto, Kpokpogri, Maybe Kpokpo Gari, AKA Tapioca

According to a news report I just read, the Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, an indigene of Rivers State, has given indication that her controversial relationship with a certain Prince Kpokpogri, an Isoko man from Delta State, whom she had described as her “husband” even though they were never even engaged, much less, actually married, may turn into a police case after claiming that the audio recording of her begging him was an old recording.

It is reported that the two, who had claimed to be madly in love despite past entanglements, broke up their relationship amid allegations of cheating, serial infidelity and backstabbing among other grave allegations.

Prince Kpokpogri, a man known as a politician and activist, according to a source was even actually married before he ever met Tonto Dikeh, barely a few months ago!

Ms Dikeh, formerly married to a certain Mr. Olakunle Churchill, from whom she was scandalously and most acrimoniously divorced, had lately carried on as if the Delta born gentleman was never married, even calling him her husband and gushing about him acting as the man in the house, doing school runs and accompanying her on school visitation for the son she had with Mr. Churchill, a mild mannered man she tirelessly trolled and relentlessly tormented on social media!

Ms Dikeh had, however, been reported as having threatened to commit suicide if Mr. Kpopkpogri, who recently fled their relationship, dumped her most unceremoniously, vowed never to have anything to do with a woman like her, ever again, and, warned his fellowmen to take to their heels whenever they sited her or her ilk, did not forgive her for, as Kpopkpogri, had put it, “opening her legs wide open” for other men while they were supposed to be in a Romeo and Juliet mode!

Debunking claims that she was desperate for him in the leaked audio recording, now making the rounds on social media, Ms Dikeh said in a post on Instagram that it was an old recording, out of context with the situation that led to the break up of the controversial relationship with Mr. Kpopkpogri.

Whereas, Kpopkpogri had hitherto accused Dikeh of blackmailing him with threats of committing suicide if he didn’t return to her embrace, on her part and, in the post on social media, she appeared to have raised a rather vague and quite incoherent accusation of blackmail against Kpopkpogri, assuring her fans that “the law will take its course” regarding her former ‘husband’ of barely three months!

It would now seem that Tonto Dikeh may be pressing a police investigation of Prince Kpokpogri, a man she met not too long ago in the wake of her infatuation and immediately thereafter, hailed as “husband”!

I am currently on my way to my mother’s village, Amuovo in Okpe, Delta State, which incidentally borders another Okpe village, which happens to be called Kpopkpogri and it just occurred to me to ask my driver to stop so we can buy “kpokpo gari” or tapioca, a highly fibrous derivative of cassava, to perhaps chew on, while monitoring updates on this sad episode in which our poor Isoko brother had unfortunately found himself problematically quite entangled in the clutches of a clearly very reptilian woman!
