Reactions Trail Davido’s Humongous Donation To Orphans

Reactions have contained to trail the birthday celebration stunt pulled by popular Nigerian musician Davido.

Nigerians have been showering encomiums on him since he announced a N250 million donation to orphans nationwide.

Recall that Davido had raised N200 million in two days after he tweeted that he needed N100 million to clear his Rolls Royce at the port.

When the money hit N171 million, Davido announced that he might give all away.

On Saturday, he made it known that he had raised N200 million and he would add N50 million to it and distribute among orphanages nationwide.

He also set up a five-man committee made up of three professors to determine how the money would be distributed.

Since the announcement of his intended donation, many on social media have commended the gesture, asking Nigerian religious and political leaders to emulate him.

On Facebook, a user, Igoche Agada, wrote, “I knew he was up to something…. Only givers receives. God bless Bro David.”

Another Facebook user, Oluwakayode Oluwadamilare Shodunke, wrote,

“Honestly I’m not a fan of any entertainment artiste. But, really and strongly support and commend #good_deeds. Thumbs ????for you on this one. You have set the pace, let others follow.”

Obele Benny Adjejevbe, also a Facebook user, wrote, “The youths should take a lesson here. You must be credible enough for people to trust you with their hard earned resources with the snap of the finger like this. It is not by deception (yahoo, yahoo). God bless Davido for this “Heart of Gold”.

For Saifullahi Doro, Davido is a legend of superstars. “Legend of super Stars in my country we love you sir,” he wrote.

Yakubu Ozi Moh’d, said, “God bless you Davido for doing that, as far as those politicians doesn’t no what to do than to defraud the country, Davido i hail you more.”

On a WhatsApp group, Seun Idowu wrote, “I hereby declare on this day henceforth, I have chosen to become a fan of Davido. Though I do not enjoy his music, I will support him and love him for his good heart. So help me God.”

Still on a WhatsApp group, Samson Akindele wrote, “Honestly! I even love the fact that this guy made a name for himself without solely resting on his family wealth. He would spend hours, days in the studio doing songs. Ordinarily, an average guy born with a silver spoon won’t do all that.”
