Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has taken first in a straw poll of governorship aspirants conducted by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Elders Forum in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The poll was conducted by the PDP Elders Forum as a way of cutting down the number of declared aspirants from 13 to three.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG, however, reports that only a handful of the 13 aspirants agreed to partake in the poll with the majority opting out, preferring to exercise their individual constitutional rights.

At the end of the straw poll the following result was declared:

1. Hon. Aminu Jonathan  10

2. Chief Jerry Gushop    22

3. Chief Satu Jatau         22

4. Mr. Alex Ladan         23

5. Barrister Caleb Mutfwang 33

Stakeholders affirm that with this result, the PDP in Mangu LGA has demonstrated its readiness for the main PDP primaries slated for May 21, 2022.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG gathered that the consensus process was spearheaded by the PDP ELDERS Forum ably led by Gabriel Din and  David Dandaura Daspan.

Mangu LGA with its rich resource base  is highly favoured to produce the PDP Governorship Candidate for Plateau State given its voting strength of over one hundred and fifty thousand registered voters.

It was gathered that the Mangu PDP ELDERS have resolved to swing into action to persuade those who lost out and encourage them to team up with the Mutfwang who topped the PDP straw poll in order to go into the primaries with formidable strength.

Meanwhile, efforts are also being to persuade even  those who opted out of the ELDERS arrangement to drop their ambitions and add value to ELDERS sanctioned outcome.
