Notable Film Maker, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Dead
One of the leading lights of the Nigerian entertainment industry and pillars of Nollywood, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe is reported to have passed on after falling into a coma.
Peace Anyiam-Osigwe was until her death the CEO of the prestigious African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) and acted as a father figure to many in Nollywood.
Peace Anyiam-Osigwe was not only the CEO of AMAA, she was also the President of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP).
Her death had not been officially confirmed by the family but there were increasing whispers here and there about the demise of the likeable film maker.
However, notable film maker Zik Zulu confirmed the death saying:
“Our President, Peace, has passed. As at Saturday, she was reported to be in coma at Saint Nicholas. But now her family has confirmed her transition. May the memory of her life be a blessing. Rest in peace, dear Peace, he writes on a Nollywood platform.
Award-winning producer, Obi Emelonye also confirmed her passing-on on his social media handles even though the family was trying to be courteous with releasing the information.
GWG.ng reports that Ms Peace Anyiam-Osigwe “was in coma at St. Nicolas Hospital (Lagos) before she succumbed to death.”
Peace Anyiam-Osigwe was from the notable Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe family in Nkwerre, Imo State and was the only girl in the family of eight children. She had a degree in Law and political science from Oxford Brookes University
