2023 Nigeria Decides
Delta Obidients Will Punish Omo-Agege For APC’s Alleged Theft Of Obi’s Mandate – Pela
Obideints in Delta State will punish Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for the alleged theft of their votes for Peter Obi by voting against him in the forthcoming governorship election, Deacon Ken Pela, the Labour Party governorship candidate has said.
Speaking in an interview on Monday, he said that the PDP’s Sheriff Oborevwori will not fare any better given the momentum for change by Deltans after 24 years of PDP hegemony that has not impacted positively on them.
Deacon Pela spoke in an interview on Arise News Television monitored by GWG.ng.
While noting his programmes for Delta State including the use of ten urban cities to propel the development of the state and a social investment scheme, he expressed confidence in winning the governorship election for at least three reasons.
According to him, besides the peoples love for Peter Obi, voters in Delta State are desirous of changing the hegemony of the PDP in the state and at the same time punishing the APC for the alleged electoral heist of February 25, 2023.
He said:
“Deltans have been yearning for change for almost 24 years. Delta has been moving from relatively good to bad to worst and that is how I will categorise the last three administrations.
And if we don’t take our time we will go worse. Deltans realise that the two major options are Otapiapia and Snipper, whichever one you eat, you die. They have tested the PDP for 24 years and they realise that their lives could be better.
They have tested the APC for eight years at the federal level and their lives are worse and more important, Deltans voted overwhelmingly for Peter Obi in the February 25th election. That victory was stolen by the APC. Do you think that they will reward them with a state,” Pela said in his claim that Omo-Agege will bear the brunt of the alleged theft of the election from Obi.
Poohpoohing claims of an alliance between Obidients and Omo-Agege, he said:
“You cant be a true Obidient and wine with retrogression, you cant be a true Obidient looking at the progress of this country and align with people who have ensured that that progress cannot happen by stealing the mandate that was given to your leader,” he said in reference to the alleged rigging of the presidential polls.
“There are plenty more working with us who are with us and sticking with their true beliefs of being Obidient. Then you have the people. The people out there, the people on the streets, the people in the markets, the people in the villages, the people in the farms, they want change.”
