Smart Adeyemi, former lawmaker representing Kogi West in the 9th National Assembly, has appealed to Senator Elisha Abbo to accept his defeat at Appeal Court in good fate.

Recall Appeal Court had on Monday, October 16, sacked Senator Abbo while asking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a Certificate of Return to his closest rival Amos Yohanna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the duly elected lawmaker representing the area in the National Assembly.

The appellate vacated the tribunal judgment which had earlier affirmed Abbo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the senatorial election.

But in a recent development, Smark Adeyemi refuted claims that Senate President Godswill Akpabio played a part in removing Abbo from the 10th Senate as the latter rightly alleged.

“It may not have been an issue that has to do with the Senate president; I mean, it may not have anything to do with the Senate president. I’m talking about the judgment against Sen. Elisha Abbo.

“It may not have anything to do with the Senate president, but again, it’s unfortunate that he cannot take this case further, so I’ll appeal to him that for the peace and stability of the system, he should move out like I was forced out too.

“I was forced out because of my position on contemporary national issues. But I don’t think my case is similar to his own because I have nobody in the Senate to accuse of having pushed me out,” Adeyemi was quoted as saying when featured on TVC.
