Ondo commissioner beaten Akinrotoye

Suspected political thugs invaded the premises of the Ondo State Oil Development Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) on Wednesday and attacked a commissioner with the agency, Kehinde Akinrotoye who was beaten up during the bursary and scholarship award ceremony.

The commissioner, also known as ‘Bonsue Aketi,’ was assaulted by the hoodlums, leading to chaos in the area.

The disturbance led to pandemonium as staff and students attending the award ceremony sought safety due to gunshots fired by the attackers. The suspected hoodlums arrived in hired vehicles, shooting into the premises and preventing the event from proceeding as scheduled.

The Commissioner’s vehicle and another vehicle were significantly damaged during the attack. The Ondo State Police Command intervened to restore order.

As of the time of this report, the reason for the attack remained unknown, and neither OSOPADEC nor the State Police Command had provided a statement on the incident.

GWG.ng reports that the incident of the OSOPADEC commissioner, Akinrotoye being beaten up came against the background of the political malaise in the state that has been triggered by the absence of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State who has not been seen in public since his return from foreign medical treatment abroad.
