One Dies, Several Injured As Severe Turbulence Forces Plane To Land

One person has been confirmed dead, and several others were injured on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore.

The Boeing 777-300ER was diverted to Bangkok, landing at 15:45 local time (08:45 GMT) after experiencing severe turbulence.

In a statement on Tuesday, the airline reported that Flight SQ 321 was carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members.

“Singapore Airlines offers its deepest condolences to the deceased’s family,” the airline stated.

Additionally, the airline mentioned that it is collaborating with Thai authorities to provide medical assistance to the affected passengers and has sent a team to Bangkok to offer further support.

According to the BBC, Thai authorities have dispatched ambulances and emergency teams to Suvarnabhumi Airport to assist.
