Nollywood Star Who Said Nothing Can Make Him Give Up On Tinubu Laments Hardship
Renowned Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun, has joined the chorus of concerned citizens lamenting the dire economic hardship in Nigeria.
Taking to Instagram, Saidi Balogun questioned the effectiveness of price control measures, citing the alarming rate of inflation as furthering the hardship in the land.
“Is there a functional price control or regulatory agency in Nigeria? How can we mitigate the effects of inflation? Things are spiraling out of control,” Balogun exclaimed.
GWG.ng reports that in an interview with The Punch published on September 11, 2022 that Saidi Balogun vowed that nothing would ever make him turn his back on Tinubu.
His concerns echo those of fellow actress Lizzy Gold, who recently highlighted the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, including petrol and foodstuffs. She appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene, emphasizing the citizens’ struggles with hunger, insecurity, and kidnappings.
In contrast, Destiny Etiko and talent manager Paulo Okoye praised Nigerians’ resilience, dubbing them the “most patient country in the world.” They acknowledged the citizens’ ability to face challenges with optimism, despite the hardships.
However, their sentiments also hinted at frustration with the government’s perceived inaction. Okoye noted that the authorities often exploit Nigerians’ patience, underscoring the need for urgent attention to the country’s economic woes.
As Saidi Balogun joins other stars in the entertainment industry adds its voice to the growing chorus of concern of hardship in the land, Nigerians await concrete actions to address the pressing issues affecting their livelihoods.
