By Gideon Ayeni

Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 16e, an affordable yet powerful New addition to its iPhone 16 series, aimed at reaching a broader audience.
In a statement published on its news website on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Apple announced that pre-orders for the iPhone 16e will commence on February 21, ahead of its official release on February 28.
Priced at $599, the iPhone 16e is designed to offer a balance of modern aesthetics, cutting-edge technology, and affordability. According to Bloomberg, Apple launched the device to stimulate sales following a slow holiday season. The new model replaces the iPhone SE, which was previously Apple’s most budget-friendly smartphone at $429.
The iPhone 16e will be available in 59 countries and regions, including major markets like the United States, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
GWG.ng reports that this launch follows Apple’s September 9, 2024, unveiling of the iPhone 16 at its Cupertino, California headquarters. With the iPhone 16e, the tech giant aims to attract both existing users and new customers looking for a modern iPhone experience at a more accessible price point.
In another development; GWG.ng reports that Nigerian music star Davido has expressed outrage after a popular Instagram blog, Instablog, shared a story that seemingly linked him to a kidnapping case.
The controversy began when Instablog posted images of three suspected kidnappers, including their leader, who identified himself as “Davido.” According to the report, the suspects were apprehended by residents of Victory Estate in Ago Palace, Lagos State.
