Papaya Ex Speaks After Confrontation With Toyin Abraham At Priscilla’s Wedding (Video)

Popular Nigerian influencer and socialite, Papaya Ex, has issued a public apology following intense backlash over her choice of outfit to Priscilla Ojo’s traditional wedding, which boldly displayed a photo of the groom, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

Papaya Ex’ attire at Priscilla’s wedding featured the groom’s face on the chest area, quickly became a lightning rod for criticism across social media platforms, especially on Twitter, where many users tagged the look as “inappropriate” and accused her of seeking undue attention at the bride’s expense.

The situation escalated further when a now-viral video captured Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham confronting Papaya Ex at the event. In the footage, Toyin, visibly upset, tried to pull off the controversial photo from the dress, but was restrained by Iyabo Ojo—Priscilla’s mother—who intervened to de-escalate the situation, urging Toyin to avoid damaging the fabric.

Reacting to the backlash, Papaya Ex took to her Instagram page to address the controversy. Sharing the video of the confrontation, she expressed regret over the misunderstanding, stating that her outfit was not intended to be disrespectful.

“I sincerely apologise if my outfit came off the wrong way. I meant no harm. It was all love and celebration for Priscy and Juma. I have nothing but good intentions for the beautiful couple,” Papaya wrote.
