Shimite Bello

The tragic death of Shimite Bello, the Delta State Governor’s Special Adviser on Trade and Export, has stirred both public grief and speculation.

Following her sudden passing, social media was inundated with condolences, but also rife with rumors surrounding the possible involvement of her husband in her death.

In response to the claims, the Delta State Police Command launched an investigation and subsequently detained her husband, fueling further tension as threats from his in-laws surfaced. However, a close associate of the deceased’s husband, Olatunde Adekunle Babatunde, has come forward to refute the circulating rumors.

Babatunde, identified in a social media post on Facebook, strongly denied any foul play and shed light on the circumstances surrounding Shimite Bello’s death. He revealed that an autopsy had been conducted, sponsored by a prominent senator, and confirmed that hypertension was the primary cause of death. The autopsy report, according to Babatunde, showed that the condition was poorly managed and led to complications, including the enlargement of several of her organs.

In an emotional Facebook post, Babatunde wrote, “Autopsy has been conducted and I got a supervising pathologist, and I am vindicated. My wife had a very serious case of hypertension, which wasn’t managed. Most of her organs were seriously affected.”

He also disclosed that preparations had been underway for Shimite Bello’s candidacy in the 2027 local government election, where she was set to run as a local government chairman.

Furthermore, Babatunde claimed that Shimite Bello’s family had taken her body to an undisclosed location, a move that prompted the police to intervene.
