Gov Akeredolu Vows To Bring Killers Of Ondo High Chief To Book

Governor of Ondo State Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has promised to leave no stone unturned in fishing out the killers of a High Chief in Owo town, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

While commiserating with the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, over the killing of one of his High Chiefs, Chief Elewere Tunde Ilori, Akeredolu maintained that the perpetrators will be brought to book.

Chief Ilori was killed on Wednesday evening by gunmen while on his way from where he had gone to resolve a land issue.

Akeredolu’s message was delivered by his deputy, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who led the government delegation to the palace of Oba Ogunoye in Owo town.

According to the governor, no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the culprits are apprehended.

He said “The Governor sent us to come and commiserate with you. It is so painful. In your kingdom, the deceased was one of the most revered chiefs. We are here to pay our condolence. The Governor said we should assure you that we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure that the culprit is brought to book.”

The Olowo who thanked the Governor for sending the delegation on a condolence visit within a short time the incident occurred said that the Elewere had a complaint about another family in respect of farmland.
