Tinubu give up

Tunde Rahman, media aide to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has debunked assertions that he is sick following his latest UK trip. In a statement, Mr. Rahman said that Tinubu travelled to the UK to attend some meetings.

He, however, did not specify the nature of the meetings.

His clarification followed varied comments to the news that Tinubu travelled to the UK to have a rest after the round of meetings and consultations in the country following his informal declaration to achieve his life ambition of being Nigeria’s president.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Tinubu returned to Nigeria from the UK after a three-month stay during which he underwent therapy for a leg injury.

The news that he had again travelled abroad and was sick generated questions as to the capacity of Tinubu to be president on account of old age and ill-health.

However, rebuffing such insinuations in a statement, Rahman said Tinubu travelled to the UK for meetings and consultations, adding that the former governor will return to Nigeria next week.

“Asiwaju Tinubu is in fine health and excellent spirits. The speculations in a national newspaper and on social media are just what they are: unfounded and untrue speculations.”

“Asiwaju’s trip to the UK is not to rest or because of any illness. While abroad, Asiwaju is maintaining a vigorous schedule of meetings and consultations on a range of important matters.

“Whether at home or abroad, the daily schedule of Asiwaju is vibrant and full. Most people couldn’t sustain his high level of activity. Asiwaju will return to Nigeria next week once this set of meetings and talks abroad are completed.”
