Bobrisky Bribery Saga: VeryDarkMan In Very Tight Corner As Falz Threatens Law Suit
Renowned human rights activist and rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has issued a strong demand for the retraction of allegedly defamatory statements made against him by popular social media figure, VeryDarkMan over the Bobrisky bribe saga.
In a letter for retraction dated September 26, 2024, addressed to Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, the Falz legal team condemned the statements made by the social media personality, which implicated Falz in the ongoing saga involving controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky. The letter refers to a publication by VeryDarkMan, in which he expressed disappointment over allegations that Falz and his father were involved in what has now been dubbed the “Bobrisky issue.”
The lawyers of Falz in the demand to VeryDarkman for retraction, categorically refuted any such involvement, clarifying that at no point did Falz initiate or conspire with Bobrisky on any legal matter or attempt to secure a presidential pardon for him. The letter also highlighted that Bobrisky had reached out to Falz on May 4, 2024, seeking legal advice after facing charges related to currency abuse. However, instead of discussing legal strategies, Bobrisky allegedly asked for financial assistance to pay bribes to Nigerian Correctional Service officials to secure preferential treatment during his jail term.
Falz’s lawyers stated that their client unequivocally advised Bobrisky against engaging in any such corrupt practices. Despite this, Bobrisky allegedly continued to press for financial aid, which Falz consistently rejected.
The legal team also expressed their dismay at VeryDarkMan’s decision to publish what they termed “reckless and defamatory” content, accusing Falz of partaking in corrupt practices and attempting to undermine the justice system for financial gain. They emphasized that such allegations not only damage Falz’s reputation but also misrepresent his long-standing record as a social justice advocate.
The letter, signed by Falz’s legal counsel, demanded a full retraction and public apology from VeryDarkMan within 24 hours of receiving the notice. Failure to comply would result in legal action, including seeking damages for the harm caused by the statements.

This development adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing controversy involving Bobrisky, who is already under scrutiny following accusations from popular activist VeryDarkMan that Bobrisky paid N15 million in bribes to evade a jail sentence. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly launched an investigation into the bribery allegations.
As the situation unfolds, the spotlight remains on both Falz and Bobrisky, with many eager to see how the legal proceedings and the EFCC investigation will play out.
