Song Theft: Mr P Replies Rudeboy (Video)
Singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has responded to accusations from his twin brother and former bandmate, Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, about stealing a song.
Recently, Rudeboy alleged that Mr P, along with their former producer Vampire, took a song he wrote.
Rudeboy said that he created a song called “Winning,” which he planned to release with his album next year. He was surprised when Mr P released the same song, produced by the same producer.
Mr P addressed these accusations in an Instagram post, saying it was not possible to steal something that was already his. He explained that he co-wrote and composed the song with Calypso60.
In his post, Mr P asked his brother to let him work on his music without any negativity. He wrote, “Person no dey thief him own Property! It is well! Thank you, @iam_vampire_official, for the clarification.”
He added, “For the record, ‘Winning’ was written and composed by @calypso60music and myself. Produced by @iam_vampire_official and co-produced by @goldswarm. They all deserve their credit. And I appreciate them.”
Mr P also referred back to an open letter he shared three months prior, saying, “Just as I said in my open letter three months ago, ‘Allow me to do my music in peace.’”
He continued, “Now that I have a new single out, please allow me to enjoy my new single, WINNING, in peace. Enough of the negativity!”
Mr P concluded by encouraging fans to keep streaming the song. He said, “’Winning’ is out on all music platforms; continue streaming and don’t get distracted. Love y’all, peace.”
