Why Sinanch Left Christ Embassy – Oyakhilome (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

The founder of Love World (Christ Embassy), Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has finally addressed the long-standing controversy surrounding the departure of several gospel musicians, including Sinach, Joe Praize, Frank Edwards, and Eben, from his church.
For years, speculation has surrounded the exit of Sinach and the other music artistes from the Pastor Chris Oyakhilome led Christ Embassy with insinuations that it was because they were not allowed to minister outside the church.
The controversy deepened when Sinach performed at The Experience, an annual interdenominational gospel concert hosted by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock. Her participation fueled rumors that Sinach had switched allegiance from Oyakhilome to Adefarasin’s ministry.
As Sinach’s music career flourished globally, her presence at Christ Embassy reportedly declined, which allegedly displeased Pastor Oyakhilome, who wanted her to remain active in the church’s music ministry.
In a recently surfaced video, Pastor Oyakhilome broke his silence, explaining that he distanced himself from the musicians because they had deviated from their spiritual calling.
“The church was turned into a party place instead of a prayer house where God’s word is celebrated,” he said.
According to him, the artistes prioritized personal fame and financial gain over genuine worship, leading to a shift in the church’s musical direction.
“They were not soul winners. They led praise in church, but when it was time for prayers, they were gone. The music in the church became worldly; they danced for themselves, celebrated themselves instead of God, and even started charging fees for their singing. They became professionals, making money from the church,” he stated.

Pastor Oyakhilome revealed that while he initially celebrated the success of Sinach and the other music ministers, he had to make a decision when they refused to align with his vision.
“I told them the Lord wanted us to do the right thing, but they had become too popular. They were making some money—though not much—but it was too attractive to them. So, they didn’t want to follow me. They made a detour… I hope they all repent. They are not worship leaders,” he added.
