PDP chairman Wabara suspended

In a shocking twist that deepens the ongoing crisis within Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party, Chairman Adolphus Wabara has been suspended by his ward over alleged anti-party actions.

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara, has been suspended. The chairman of the Abia State chapter of the party, Abraham Amah confirmed the suspension that was initiated by Wabara’s ward.

His suspension was announced by his ward in Abia State on Tuesday and was traced to alleged anti-party activities.

Reports indicate that the suspension was also approved by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party in Abia during a meeting presided over by State Chairman Abraham Amah. Amah confirmed Wabara’s suspension and stated that more details would be shared later.

“Yes, it is true, he has been suspended,” Amah said in affirming the disciplinary action against Wabara, a former president of the Senate.

The latest news flowing from the PDP adds another chapter to the ongoing crisis plaguing the PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition party.

Meanwhile, former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George, has vowed to stay with the party despite the internal turmoil. He made it clear that he would never leave the PDP, stating, “all other political parties in the country apart from PDP are an association of strange bedfellows.”

In an interview with newsmen in Lagos on Sunday, George acknowledged the party’s current challenges but expressed confidence that the issues would be resolved.

Playing down the negative news that has trailed the party, he emphasized that the PDP is the only party in Nigeria that maintains strong democratic principles, saying, “The PDP is the only party in Nigeria that maintains strong democratic principles.”
