Sowore Narrates Drama As Corps Member Who Called Tinubu ‘Terrible President’ Arrives NYSC Office
By Gideon Ayeni

Presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore has alleged that the Local Government Inspector (LGI) of Eti-Osa, Lagos, was absent during a scheduled disciplinary meeting with National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye.
Raye recently sparked controversy after a viral video in which she criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration and described Lagos as a “smelly state.” The video generated widespread reactions, leading to her summons by NYSC authorities for disciplinary action.
On Monday, Sowore accompanied Raye alongside a team of legal representatives, including lawyers Festus Ogun, Yinka Oyesomi, and Justice Ojienoh, for her hearing at the NYSC Eti-Osa office. However, upon arrival, the LGI was reportedly nowhere to be found.
Providing an update via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Sowore claimed that the NYSC official had absconded, failing to show up throughout their visit.
“We arrived at the Eti-Osa LGI office with youth corper Ushie Rita Uguamaye as scheduled, accompanied by attorneys @mrfestusogun, @yinka_oyesomi, and @justiceojienoh. However, the LGI official failed to show up throughout our stay,” he wrote.
As of now, the NYSC management has not released any official statement regarding the alleged absence of the LGI or the next course of action in Raye’s case.
