By Ella Makondo
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has denied photos on social media supposedly claimed to be that of his new born son,
GWG earlier reported that the Ooni had waited more than 20 years after the birth of his first child and daughter, to receive a son through his third wife, Queen Silekunola Naomi on November 18.
It was also reported by GWG that the Ooni according to tradition will still have to wait months before he will be able to set eyes on his new born son.
A statement on Tuesday by the palace’s Director of Media and Public Affairs , Mr Moses Olafare said the pictures did not emanate from the palace and did not represent the heir to the throne.
“Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who has the sole right to make the face of the baby public, is yet to do so, as essential traditional rites to formally welcome the Prince in accordance to our culture and traditions are still ongoing.
“The Arole Oduduwa wishes to unequivocally and emphatically state that the pictures are not that of his son, he wants the public to ignore the social media circulation of the pictures capable of threatening the privacy of the babies in those pictures and their parents,” the statement added.
