Kemi Badenoch Runs Her Mouth Into ‘Trouble’
By Emmanuel Aziken
British Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch has run her mouth into trouble with her rival, Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Reform Party threatening her to eat her words over allegations of fraud and dishonesty made against him.
GWG.ng reports that Kemi Badenoch is under fire over her words just days after she made sweeping statements against her country of ancestry, Nigeria.
Kemi Badenoch had accused Farage of “manipulating [his] own supporters” numbers with a ticker that is “coded to tick up automatically” after it showed the insurgent right-wing party had gone past 131,680 members – the number of eligible Conservative Party members in its leadership election in the autumn.
GWG.ng reports that the problem erupted when Nigel Farage had on Boxing Day put forth the claim that his new party which has an affinity with Donald Trump had crossed the Conservative Party in terms of registered members have crossed 131,680 members which the Conservative Party had as at November.
The implication is that Kemi Badenoch’s Conservative Party had been pushed to number three in the country after Labour which had more than 360,000 members as at March 2024.
Reacting to the claim, Kemi Badenoch put forward a tweet thus:
The post with its insinuation of fraud has fired up the UK Reform Party with its leader, Farage now threatening her with a law suit if she refuses to apologise within two days.
“I’m going to take some action in the next couple of days. I’ve got to decide exactly what it is, but I’m certainly not going to take it lying down,” he said in a call to journalists on Friday.
“I think it’s an absolutely outrageous thing for her to have said,” he continued. “I know she’s got a very bad temper. I know she’s well known for lashing out at people, but I am not at all happy, and I’m going to take some action.”
He added that he will confirm within two days exactly what this action will be if she does not apologise for the “intemperate outburst”.
to journalists earlier, Mr Farage was very critical of Ms Badenoch personally, saying her claim that their membership number ticker had been faked “reflects her personality”.
He labelled her “aggressive” and “liable to lashing out”, and said he thinks she wrote her tweet out of a “slight sense of anger”.
“She’s got to fully disprove this, and she’s going to find life a lot more difficult and bitterly regret putting this out on Boxing Day afternoon,” he added.
GWG.ng reports that Kemi Badenoch had earlier run into a storm in Nigeria after calling the country’s policemen thieves and such.
