Senator Natasha Slams Senate Over Suspension
By Gideon Ayeni

The senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district, Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan has strongly condemned her suspension from the Nigerian Senate, declaring it unjust and a violation of natural justice, fairness, and equity.
In a statement shared on her social media, the Kogi Central lawmaker insisted that the six-month suspension does not strip her of her legitimacy as a senator. She vowed to continue serving her constituents and the country despite the Senate’s decision.
“Against the culture of silence, intimidation, and victim-shaming, my unjust suspension from the Nigerian Senate invalidates the principles of natural justice, fairness, and equity,” she wrote.
Senator Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to her legislative duties, stating that she remains dedicated to her mandate and will not be silenced.
“The illegal suspension does not withdraw my legitimacy as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I will continue to use my duly elected position to serve my constituents and country to the best of my ability till 2027 … and beyond,” she added.

Her suspension has sent the social media abuzz, with many questioning the fairness of the Senate’s decision. However, as of the time of this report, the leadership of the National Assembly has yet to respond to her remarks.
