Reactions As Trump Thanks Nigerian Supporters
By GWG Staff
US President, Donald Trump rounded up his campaign for a second term by recognizing his supporters in Nigeria who took to the streets to show solidarity for his re-election.
Trump had on Tuesday taken to his verified Twitter handle to share a video of his Nigerian supporters singing while holding the American flag and placards with the inscription bearing his name in an unidentified location in Nigeria.
The US president captioned the video thus: “A parade for me in Nigeria, a great honor!”
Trump is currently battling with Democratic party presidential candidate, Joe Biden, as the votes of the US presidential election are being counted.
Although the policies of Trump have not been favourable to Africa, including Nigerians, many Nigerians have showed him unflinching support for his re-election, especially those from the Christian faith.
The latest of Trump’s unfavourable policies towards Nigeria is the opposition to Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s candidacy as the director-general of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Even with the immigration visa ban imposed on Nigeria, his Nigerian supporters have remained unmoved.
However, the action of the Nigerians who took to the streets in solidarity for Trump has been condemned by some Nigerians.
