JAMB Withholding Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new commencement date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), bringing the exam forward by one day.

Originally slated to begin on Friday, April 25, the examination will now kick off on Thursday, April 24, 2025. This adjustment was confirmed in an official statement released on Saturday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, and shared via the Board’s X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the statement, the change was made to accommodate “essential commitments by the Board and its partner agencies.”

In the lead-up to the examination, JAMB has also directed all candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips starting Saturday, April 19, 2025. These slips include key details such as the candidate’s exam date, venue (centre), time, and other relevant instructions.

“Candidates are encouraged to print their Notification Slips starting today to allow enough time for preparations and easy access to their assigned centres within their selected examination towns,” the Board advised.

To print the examination slip, candidates should:

JAMB also urged candidates to visit their exam centres at least one or two days ahead of their scheduled date to avoid last-minute challenges.

“It is strongly advised that candidates familiarise themselves with their examination centres ahead of time. This will help ensure a seamless experience on the day of the exam,” the statement added.

The Board further assured that no candidate will be assigned a centre outside their selected examination town, reinforcing its commitment to fairness and accessibility.

With the new date confirmed, the 2025 UTME will officially run from Thursday, April 24, 2025, and candidates are encouraged to stay updated and adhere strictly to all guidelines for a smooth and successful examination process.
