Panic As Explosion Kills 2 Children In Kaduna

A tragic explosion near the old Nigerian Defence Academy site in Kaduna on Tuesday claimed the lives of two children and left three other residents injured.
Tragedy struck in Kaduna State on Tuesday as an explosion in the Abakpa area claimed the lives of two children—13-year-old Imam and six-year-old Nasrin.
The blast, which occurred near the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), also left three other residents injured and sparked fear and confusion in the local community.
Security agencies have arrived at the scene to investigate the cause of the explosion, which remains unknown at this time.
A resident, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted the moment of the incident, saying he was bathing when he heard the loud explosion. He rushed outside and found Imam injured, attempting to take him to the hospital.
“The explosion occurred very close to my house. So when I heard it, I ran out to see what happened. I saw one of the affected victims, Imam, and tried to take him to the hospital but he died before we got to the hospital,” he said.
While full details are still emerging, the incident has left the community in shock, with residents deeply concerned about their safety.
