Osimhen: Napoli Reject Galatasaray’s €65m Bid
By Benjamin Abioye

Napoli has rejected a €65 million bid from Turkish club Galatasaray for their striker, Victor Osimhen. Galatasaray made the offer after Osimhen’s successful loan spell with the club, hoping to make the deal permanent.
According to the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the Turkish side attempted to activate Osimhen’s loan agreement, but their bid fell short of his €75 million release clause. The 26-year-old joined Galatasaray on loan until the end of the season, without any option for the club to make the transfer permanent.
However, Galatasaray holds a unique advantage in these talks because of a clause in the loan agreement. If Osimhen were to move to another club during the January transfer window, Galatasaray would be entitled to a €6 million compensation fee from Napoli. This clause effectively raises his release clause to €81 million for any other interested parties this winter. Therefore, only Galatasaray can sign him for the original €75 million this month, while other clubs would have to wait until the summer to trigger the same release clause.
Osimhen’s release clause was initially set at a massive €130 million, but it was adjusted last summer when he signed a new contract with Napoli, allowing him to join Galatasaray on loan. Since arriving in Turkey, Osimhen has been in excellent form, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists in 20 appearances, helping Galatasaray stay at the top of the Süper Lig.
In a recent statement, Osimhen confirmed his intention to stay with Galatasaray until the end of the season. “I will not leave in January; I am at Galatasaray until the end of the season. I do not know what Galatasaray and Napoli are discussing for future arrangements, but I am open to conversations if they approach me,” he said.
